Thankmas Dinner!

We've had a tradition with a group of friends to plan a dinner between Thanksgiving and Christmas that brings us together for a big dinner. We've done it a couple of times with kids too but decided that as the families grew, we'd do it with the adults. A few times we've done a traditional dinner and this year we thought it would be fun to make a dinner with recipes we've never tried, and throw in a dinner game to shake it up a bit. Mike and I had the privilege of hosting, and the kids went for a much anticipated sleep over at Opa and Oma's. We sure had a  fun evening! We tried new dishes, and ate them in the most interesting ways! Here are some pictures of the fun night.

So the idea behind this game is that you have 12 items to choose for 4 courses. The trick is that it was all in yiddish, so when you're deciding which number to write down for which course, you have no idea what you're actually writing down! So, you may be eating your salad with a piece of chocolate and a knife, or your course #2 may be a fork, napkin, and toothpick! In the end, you end up with the entire meal, just in various orders. A highly recommended way to eat a fancy dinner in the company of friends!
